Dog

Have you ever been attacked by a dog? The experience can be frightening, right? If you are walking around and suddenly face a one, you must be careful about how you respond. To avoid more trouble with man’s favourite pet, you must understand the right way to face a possible attack.

Tips

Avoid panicking

There is some basis, in fact, for the age-old proverb that dogs can “feel fear.” If you become irritated, run away, or scream, you stand the chance of making the dog gain confidence in his attack, or even worse, you face the risk of appearing menacing to the dog. Therefore, if you face one, ensure you don’t seem to be in a panicking mood.

Stay rigid and motionless.

If a dog is coming at you, you should remain perfectly still with your hands at your sides, mimicking the position of a tree, and avoid your gaze. If you ignore it, there is a good chance that it will become disinterested and wander away.

Avoid running away from the Dog

Do you know that running away can arouse the dog’s urge to pursue and catch prey? Although the dog might start playfully running at you, it might become aggressive with time. It will be impossible for you to outrun a dog in many circumstances. Therefore, if you face one, the best way to avoid an attack is to ensure you don’t run.

If the dog is not leaving, command it to leave.

If the dog keeps acting aggressively despite your attempts to ignore or appease him, you should turn to face him and give him a firm command to leave the area. While you command the dog to leave, ensure you use a deep, strong, confident, commanding tone. Also, ensure you are avoiding eye contact with the it. Ultimately, it might end up feeling intimated and leave the place.

If the dog attacks, fight back

You have no choice but to fight for your safety if the dog begins biting you. You should punch or kick the dog in the rear of the head, throat, and snout. This will render it immobile, allowing you to make your escape in peace.

Fight as if your survival relies on the fight because it does. An attack have the potential to be fatal. While you should try to avoid causing unnecessary pain to the pet, you should not hesitate to defend yourself with physical force if you are badly attacked.

Ensure your chest, face, and throat are protected.

If you are knocked to the ground while being attacked by the enraged dog, it will be harder for you to fend off the attack, and key places on your chest, face, and neck will be more exposed to attack. These areas of your body require the utmost protection, as bites in these areas are likely to bring you the most pain and suffering and the highest risk of ultimately claiming your life.

Conclusion

An attack can be fatal, right? Therefore, if a dog attacks you, you should guide your body, avoid panicking, and don’t run.
